I decided to make a trip to Twin Falls for the day since I have never been there. It is just outside North Bend WA and a quick 35 minute drive for me. Once I got there I realized taking nice creek photos would not be an option so I focused on small parts of the river. This allowed me to capture color and pattern in the photo and not the grand landscape. This is an important part of landscape photography. Don't forget the intimate details. Maybe get out the zoom lens and see what you can find. Try different techniques such as zooming while the photo is being taken on a long shutter speed. Move the camera up or down during the photo. Any number of possibilities to try while on a photo shoot. Remember, I take over 50 photos just to get 1 or 2 that are worth editing as do most professional photographers. Don't get discouraged if your photos don't look as nice as the ones in the magazines or online. Be patient and just keep shooting. You will get it figured out.
